Turkey Integrates Cryptocurrency with National Securities Registry
Turkey’s Central Securities Depository (MKK) has taken a decisive step toward formalizing crypto asset oversight with the launch of the Crypto Asset Central Registry System (KVMKS). The new framework requires real-time reporting of trading, custody, and transfer data from exchanges and service providers, effectively bridging the gap between digital assets and traditional securities regulation.
Investors gain unprecedented visibility through the MKK’s e-YATIRIMCI app, which enables direct verification of wallet balances against custodial records. Istanbul’s financial community views this as the most substantive regulatory move yet to anchor cryptocurrency within Turkey’s capital markets infrastructure.
